Innovative and creative alike, with a passion for fields belonging on two ends of the spectrum, arts and astronomy, my name is Nishi Patel, and this is my journey through some of the most important years of my life, this is my CAS portfolio. CAS here in KIS to me presented itself as an opportunity to dwell on and explore passions I had and interests I would have never initially thought of pursuing. I have a year of experience with hands on work with mechanical engineering, half a year of experience with coding, and two years’ experience with fashion design, these are some experiences that impacted me as a learner the most. I have an extremely curious mind, and want to know a lot more than the surface of all fields, even fields I do not quite plan on pursuing. The ranging yet comparatively similar art styles always astonished me. Especially, now, how intricately the character designs, backgrounds, etc. are made are some things that gave me a lot of inspiration for my own art.
I have always loved art. It presented itself as an opportunity to express myself, my likes, my dislikes, etc. I love looking at and analyzing art pieces as well. Some forms of art that I am fond of include renaissance art, surrealism and still life.
Astrophysics has been something that always peaked my interest. It started with learning more about our solar system itself until it expanded to learning about galaxies, black holes etc. It is my passion and the career I plan to pursue in the future. My website: http://spacesuit.co.in/

I really don't know when my interest for reading developed but it's always been there. I love reading all types of literature such as science fiction, romance, psychological thrillers, classics, etc.

CHESS
Chess has been a way to improve and gain many new skills such as logical thinking, critical thinking, problem solving skills, and even qualities such as patience. Chess became a daily thing where I would play with my father every night. I can't say I fully understand the concepts and strategies used in chess but I hope to understand them better in the future.
OCEAN
I have always loved the ocean and the mysteries that come with it. The depths of the ocean, the wildlife, flora, fauna, etc, everything fascinates me. Despite being immensely terrified of the ocean, I still want to explore its beauties and get over this fear.
