PROM COMMITTEE

Summarize what you did in this activity/project:

For prom committee, we aimed to raise ₹5-6 lakh rupees in two years. We did this by selling food at school events such as quad shot, canteen, field day, NHS talent show, etc. At every event, we took turns within ourselves to sell products and calculate finances. We offered trade receivables as well to maximize our sales and finances and we were required to coordinate with each other to ensure we received the money. We were also in charge of decorating and dividing finances between decorations and catering. For our Arabian night-themed prom we made a large flower mural, I was put in charge of this mural and executing the mural. I collated a group of people and we got to work making a 15-20 ft flower mural.

Explain what you hoped to accomplish through this activity/project?

With this, I hoped to assist my classmates in raising funds as well as learn how to manage the funds myself. I hoped to improve my collaborative and management skills through this activity and also delve into creativity skills and leadership as well.

How successful were you in achieving your goals? What difficulties did you encounter and how did you overcome them?

I believe I was successful as I have managed to efficiently complete plenty of tasks of vast variety requiring different skills. My team and I managed to make a beautiful flower mural on the ground, and with that, my classmates and I coordinated within ourselves and put up decorations as effectively as possible. I did not necessarily face any difficulties during the process

How can you apply what you have learned in other life
situations?

I believe the level of management and coordination I did during this service will come in handy going forward. Especially when it comes to managing my finances going forward. The coordination skills I learned will also come in handy when managing a group/ working collaboratively with a team.
