ASTRONOMY CLUB

Summarize what you did in this activity/project:

A friend of mine and I founded the school's astronomy club. This club mainly strived to educate and help others understand the significance of astronomy and how interesting it actually is despite being such a niche subject. We organised trips to the observatory, taught the members sub topics of astronomy, and even managed to have everyone part of the club officially intern under the local observatory's head. We also plan on doing many other projects and entering different competitions to make the club more engaging and interesting.

Explain what you hoped to accomplish through this activity/project?

I hoped to educate others and myself about relevant astronomy concepts and learn many new things that I previously did not know before. I also hoped to establish something that I led in order to increase my leadership skills and in the process, help me understand more about where I stand as a leader and how

How successful were you in achieving your goals? What difficulties did you encounter and how did you overcome them?

I believe I was successful in attaining my goal as I learnt a lot of new things and concepts about astronomy that I previously was not aware of. The members of my club were also satisfied with the outcomes of the club and learnt a great deal about astronomy despite some of the members not being particularly passionate about the subject. I did not face any difficulties while executing this activity.

How can you apply what you have learned in other life
situations?

This club is incredibly impactful and important to me. I learnt how to be a leader, how to effectively deal with issues, how to work collaboratively with others, and quite literally, I learnt a lot about the subject I wish to pursue. All of these skills are extremely important skills to have in life as they help effectively communicate, convey, lead, etc.
